The mechanics in our service department swear by this tool. The Quik-Stik is a single tool that grips beneath a mounted tire to lever and pry it over the rim for removal. It can also be used on the rim edge to pry a tire bead onto the rim. Our experience is that Quik-Stik works very well on wide 26" mountain tires that don't fit the rim too tightly. It makes installation and removal of mountain tires a snap. For tighter fitting road tires the lever set below would be better. Imported from Holland and marketed by Kool-Stop, Sport tire levers are without a doubt the best of the multiple lever sets made, and was used intensely to mount and dismount the tires for all the images (photographs) in this tire section. The three Black levers that comprise the set are molded with reinforcing ridges on the rear. Each lever has a tapered cup front end and a hook at its rear to catch and hold onto a spoke for those very tight French Kevlar beaded tires. The 3 levers slide and snap into a Red carry clip whose back side can be used to buff or finely scratch a tube area prior to patching, so the patch adhesive will stick. Kool-Stop imports from Holland a second set of tire levers they call "Race" levers. They are molded from nylon plastic with internal reinforcing ribs. The three levers snap together, one on top of the other forming a tight trio of tire levers without the clip used in the Sport model. The Race levers are 9.5mm wide rather than the 15mm width of the Sport models to reduce the weight of the set. The tapered, cupped front of the lever is slightly thinner so it will fit more easily under tight fitting tire beads. The Milk Lever set is molded from 100% recycled plastic milk containers making this the first "Green" tire lever set. Each opaque White/Grey levers is 1.16" (30mm) wide, 4' (102mm) long and 3/10ths inch (7.37mm) thick. Each end of the lever has a cupped shape, one end thinner than the other.
