I am pleased to inform you that our parent company, Trek Bicycle Corporation, has just completed an agreement to buy Klein Bicycle.
Klein has a great product line that currently has a limited availability. Trek will be applying its marketing, customer service and financial resources towards improving Klein's availability and competitiveness. Klein's managment will be evaluating markets across the country to find the best dealers to carry Klein. This could be a good opportunity for you to add a new product line and grow your business. We will be adding a field sales force for the Klein product line (Klein currently telemarkets directly to dealers). Sales, marketing and customer service will be handled from Waterloo as of August 1st. Klein will continue its separate product development and manufacturing operation based in Chehalis, Washington USA. with production of the line continuing, at least this season, at the Klein factory there. Trek expects to invest in that plant to improve its efficiency. Gary Klein, who has been closely involved with the new product development, will remain as president of Klein.
