MEMO CONCERNING HOPE HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKE
Dear Valued Customer,
We wanted to let you know the status of the HOPE hydraulic brake you have on order. It is certainly not our style to have product on back order for this length of time and we owe you as explanation. You have been very patient and obviously willing to wait for the best brake on the market. The magazine's have all printed fantastic reviews on the HOPE brake and we guarantee it is worth the wait.
Hope products are manufactured in England so we have been at their mercy regarding stock. The reason you are not riding the brake today is a good one. HOPE refuses to offer any products that are not perfect. The first production run of brakes were nery hard to keep from rubbing. To date, every disc brake on the market rubs slightly and HOPE would not accept this for cross-country racing. What Hope has been trying to accomplish is to have the dual pistons retract into the caliper allowing the pads more clearance from the rotor, thus allowing it not to rub. In addition to this they are also working with EBC, an English manufacture of motorcycle brake pads, and have developed brake pads designed specifically for the Hope disc brake. Solving these two problems has caused the delays through the summer months. HOPE informed us that the revised Hope hydraulic brake will be available on November 1st.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding. We appreciate you support and look forward to a successful future together. Please feel free to call us at 800-948-6466 if you jave any questions or if we can help in any way.
Sincerely, Jeff Enlow Aftermarket Sales Manager
