Kalloy Seatposts

KALLOY ALUMINUM MOUNTAIN POST

Kalloy of Taiwan has made great gains in the US market in the last few years. This post has the same clamp design SR has made so famous before it. The clamp pieces are all cast aluminum. It uses a threaded square nut on top to fasten the clamp section and saddle securely no matter what angle it's set to. The upper and lower clamp pieces provide a 1 3/8" trough front to rear for the saddle rails to be held in.

The Kalloy Aluminum post is micro adjusting using a single, steel bolt and washer to draw and cinch the saddle and clamp together. The recessed 6mm allen fitting on the bolt makes only one small wrench necessary for saddle angle and handlebar distance adjustments. The head piece is a single aluminum casting, hollowed slightly to reduce weight, that is pressure fit into the aluminum tubing section. A look inside the post, shows that there is 1 3/8" of the head piece firmly fit into the tubing section. The tubing has a precision lathed exterior to provide an exact fit into your seat tube. With the clamp perpendicular to the tubing section, the center of rail to end of tube length is 301mm. The weight of a 27.2mm Kalloy Aluminum post is 333 grams. The Kalloy Aluminum is made in Taiwan, and is available in, 25.4mm, 26.0mm, 26.4mm, 26.6mm, 26.8mm, 27.0mm, and 27.2mm in Silver only.

The bottom of the lower clamp piece has knurls which mate into similar knurls on the top of the head piece.

The clamp system is held together with a 6mm allen head, steel bolt and washer. The bolt is threaded with 8mm by 1.25mm thread pitch, 40mm long. A single allen wrench is conveniently all you need to adjust saddle angle and distance from the handlebar. The head piece, on the post, is cast, as one piece, of aluminum and slightly hollowed on the underside, to reduce weight, with a glossy Black painted surface. It is press-fit down an inch and a half, up to the alloy shoulder on the head piece, into a 4130 Cro-moly, thin walled steel tube section that is painted glossy Black.
