Carbonworks makes lighter weight, carbon fiber replacements for the most popular aluminum handle piece of many production levers. In reading about each of the mass produced levers we have mentioned when a Carbonworks replacement was available, what the aluminum original weighed and what the Carbonworks replacement weighed. There are four carbon levers we stock. One is a replacement for the Dia Compe SS-5 handle piece. Each original SS-5 handle weighs 39 grams, each carbon replacement weighs 17 grams. A carbon version of the Dia Compe SS-7 is available. Each original SS- 7 handle weighs 34.5 grams, while each carbon fiber replacement weighs 16.5 grams. A carbon version of the Ritchey Logic handle section is available. Each original weighs 37.5 grams while each carbon replacement weighs 22 grams. Lastly a single replacement is available to fit the Shimano XTR, XT and LX handle section of their RapidFire brake/shift lever combo sets. The lever piece for the 3 of these mechanically identical. Each aluminum original weighs 34 grams while each carbon replacement weighs 18.5 grams. No loinger made, these sold in lever pairs for $53.99 |
